Dinner in a Centro Histórico Courtyard
Topolo gave us a great dinner and good service in a courtyard in Mazatlán’s Centro Histórico. Fresh salsa made tableside started the meal, and the pork shank became the highlight of my order.
I returned on my latest trip, and my photo library includes exterior and courtyard pictures dated February 27, 2026. The meal details below come from my February 2022 Google review, with January 2022 food photos kept clearly separate from the newer setting photos.

Fresh Salsa Made Tableside
I liked the freshly made tableside salsa that started our dinner. My older photo shows it in a stone bowl with herbs scattered over the top.
It was one of the details I chose to mention in the original review. Ask about the current service when you book rather than assuming every part of that earlier meal is unchanged.

Tender Pork Shank and Garlic Shrimp
I ordered the pork shank with mashed potatoes. It was very tender, with a tasty sauce. The combination of tender meat, sauce and mashed potatoes worked well for me.
My wife had garlic shrimp, served with rice and vegetables. Together, our dishes made the dinner I remembered so positively.

The Courtyard and My Overall Take
The courtyard was part of the appeal, and the newer photos show its trees, colorful walls and evening lighting. It is the setting I associate with Topolo.
My original review gave the restaurant five stars for a great dinner and service. The tender pork shank and tableside salsa are the clearest reasons in my notes, and Topolo was a place I returned to on my latest visit to Mazatlán.
